Investigators search for clues in Faria Beach killings
Investigators probing the killing of Davina and Brock Husted of Ventura searched for evidence Monday in two cars belonging to the couple, as well as at their business address in Santa Barbara, court records show.
The search warrants issued Monday also allowed investigators to examine a boat and two trucks.
The warrants were issued to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, which is leading the investigation into the deaths of the couple. They were killed by an unidentified intruder at theihttp://top5at5.venturacountystar.com/admin/r Faria Beach home on the night of May 20.

Officer finds bomb after Oxnard traffic stop
Authorities Monday night discovered a homemade bomb in a car after a routine traffic stop, the California Highway Patrol reported.
A CHP officer discovered the bomb after stopping a motorist on Santa Clara Avenue near Ventura Boulevard in Oxnard about 8:20 p.m., officials said. After arresting the motorist on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, the officer spotted an object under the driver’s seat that he believed to be an explosive device, officials said.

President Obama signs Reagan birthday bill
WASHINGTON — Former First Lady Nancy Reagan returned to the White House on Tuesday to help honor the memory of her late husband and to hear President Barack Obama effusively praise his ability to transcend politics and lift America’s spirit.
